The purpose of this employee handbook is to disseminate essential information in a convenient form to the employees at Greenville University.  It is not intended that the Employee Handbook be used to replace the official documents and statements of policy of the University and its employees.  By means of this handbook, employees may better understand the pattern of operation of the University and have at hand a rather practical guide as to procedures and activities which seek to implement the goals of the University.

The policies in this Handbook are not intended to create a contract and are not an offer to enter into a contract. These policies do not establish contractual rights for employment or any employment benefit.  The policies are not to be construed to constitute contractual obligations of any kind, or a contract of employment between Greenville University (“University”) and any employee.

No commitment for employment for any specified duration, including “lifetime” employment, shall be valid or binding on the University unless expressly set forth in a written document and signed by both the employee and by the President of the University.

Employment with the University is voluntary and “at-will.”  Just as you are free to resign at any time for any reason, the University has the right to terminate your employment and/or benefits at any time, with or without cause or advance notice.

The policies in this Handbook have been developed at the discretion of the University and may be amended or eliminated at any time, at the sole discretion of the University.  The University retains the right to modify, eliminate, amend, or cancel any of its published or unpublished policies for any reason, with or without advance notice, at its sole discretion without having to give justification.

These policies replace all previous policies and practices and may not be changed or added to without the express written approval of the President of the University.  Questions about these policies should be directed to Human Resources.
