Each semester, students who are enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) in an on-campus undergraduate program are expected to earn 10 TWE credits and 10 Spiritual Formation credits by the end of the semester. Failure to do so will result in chapel probation. Credits are earned in the following ways:

TWE Credits:

Students may earn one TWE credit for each TWE or Neighborhood TWE they attend. TWE is held on Wednesday at 9:30 am in H.J. Long Gymnasium. 10 TWE credits are required every semester. There are 14 TWE services each semester.

Spiritual Formation (SF) Credits:

Students may earn a SF credit for attendance and/or participation in activities or programs that are intentionally designed for spiritual formation. 10 SF credits are required each semester. Typically, there are 50+ opportunities for SF credit each semester.

Although other options may be available, weekly SF options include:

  1. Community Café: Community Café is held Friday at 9:30 am in the Krober Room (Armington Center). During this time, students and staff gather around tables, sharing in breakfast while engaging in small group discussion, fellowship, and prayer. Discussion will go deeper on the topic from TWE that week. Students who missed TWE that week can arrive early to watch back the TWE message.
  2. Encounter: Encounter is held Monday at 9:30 AM in Luzader (Room 216) in Whitlock Music Center. Encounter involves worshiping through music and engaging in small group discussion on a variety of topics. This service focuses on experiencing Christ and living a life that is transformed by encountering Christ.
  3. Vespers: Vespers is held Thursday at 9:30 pm in Whitlock Music Center. Vespers is a student-led worship experience focused on music, testimony, and prayer.
  4. Small Groups: Attendance at one session of a Chaplain-approved small group counts as one SF credit. Small group topics, leaders, and locations change from semester-to-semester. Most small groups meet on Monday at 9:30 am but can meet at any time throughout the week. Contact the Chaplain for current small group offerings or to start an approved small group.

Students must sign in with their student ID, stay for the entire event/service, sign out at the end of the service, and follow the etiquette statement as outlined in the student handbook  in order to receive credit. Credits are typically entered and visible in my.Greenville within two business days of the event or service. Students have 10 days after the event to dispute any credit they believe is missing from their account.
