Helpful tips for when moving out of the residence halls:

  • Sign up for a check-out time with your RA with at least 12 hours notice.

  • Move EVERYTHING you own out. All students are responsible for making sure that their personal property is removed prior to check-out

  • Have your room cleaned according to the Check-out Cleaning Checklist below

  • Throw your trash out in the dumpster. Do not leave it in the hall or bathroom/kitchen trash. Place items for donation in the designated areas only.

  • All common areas must be kept clean. Do not leave trash bags, furniture, clothing, etc., in these areas. Check the common areas for all of your items before leaving.

  • Have an RA check you out of your room and turn in your residence hall room key.

Failure to properly clean or check out of your room properly can result in a $50 to $500 fine.

Room Damage:  Students are responsible for their room and its furnishings. Charges for any damage or defacement will be assessed at the time the damage is reported, or at the end of the semester.

Corporate Damages: Students, individually and as a community, are financially responsible for damage to common areas in the residence halls and houses.
