What are Greenville’s counseling services?

George Smith, M.A., LCPC, CSADC, serves as Greenville’s lead counselor. He has been with Greenville University since 1998. Mr. Smith also holds a full time position as clinical therapist and clinical training specialist at a local community mental health center. In addition to counseling students directly, he will assist in coordinating our partnerships with Jubilee House & Prairie Counseling, assist with training of Community Life staff, and review policy, procedures and incidents. Students who desire counseling can either contact George, Jubilee House or Prairie Counseling directly to make an appointment, or stop by the Community Life Office or contact Jordan Hohm for assistance. The counseling department maintains strict confidentiality of anyone who meets with a counselor or seeks services. The College will cover the cost of six sessions annually for students. After six sessions students will pay for sessions out of pocket or use insurance benefits. If a student needs additional sessions and is unable to pay, they may request additional sessions to be paid by the College.
